1 John 3:16
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
“Life Is Here” is the known tagline for Davao City’s tourism campaign. We came up with our own version of that campaign… “Love Is Here” to celebrate the 16th anniversary of Victory Davao. Love is the manifestation of God’s presence. When God’s love is alive and active in His people, there is no other way by to share it.
That is why outreaches to the street children (by the youth ministry), to a feeding center (by the singles ministry) and to young cancer patients (by the family ministry) were conducted for them to feel the love of God through the church. It also increased the awareness and involvement to be socially responsible. The church may not do everything, but the church can do something.
It is also the theme of the 3-week series for the Anniversary.
“Love of God” talks about the nature of God’s love. This needs to be understood for us to understand why we are able to love.
“Love for God” talks about the ways people show love for God and our motivations for doing so.
“Love for Others” talks about the kind of love that Jesus exemplified. Loving others who are in need, loving others with compassion, and loving others unconditionally.
